Notable milestones in the Company's short history are:

  • May 2005 - Eastern Mediterranean Resources commenced trading on AIM (Code: "EMED") following an initial public offering of its shares. The Company's AIM Admission Document is available by clicking here.
  • September 2006 - Shareholders approved the change of Company name from Eastern Mediterranean Resources Public Limited to EMED Mining Public Limited.
  • October 2006 - EMED Mining announced the discovery of the Biely Vrch gold deposit in Slovakia.
  • May 2007 - EMED Mining was granted an option to acquire the Rio Tinto Copper Mine known as Proyecto de Rio Tinto ("PRT") in Spain.

  • December 2010 - EMED Mining commenced trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange (Code: EMD). The Company's Final Prospectus for the TSX listing is available by clicking here.

EMED Mining has now established a strong position in the following areas within its area of interest:

  • Cyprus exploration areas are centred on the Troodos ophiolite complex. The targeted mineralisation style is volcanic-hosted massive sulphide copper deposits under shallow cover rocks, similar to the larger past Cyprus copper mines - three of which exceeded 10 million tonnes of ore running at grades between 1% and 4.5%.
  • KEFI Minerals Plc was admitted to AIM in December 2006 and is 19%-owned by EMED Mining. KEFI Minerals owns carefully selected licence areas in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, as well as an extensive proprietary database of regional and specific exploration data providing a pipeline of further projects to evaluate. Visit www.kefi-minerals.com for further information.
  • A positive Scoping Study has been completed for developing the Biely Vrch Prospect in Slovakia into a gold mine producing 60,000 ounces per annum, with permitting and further studies being systematically progressed. EMED Mining is also actively exploring other prospects within the Company's large 100%-owned licence areas in the Central Slovakian Volcanic Field.
  • EMED Mining continues to progress towards becoming a significant copper producer at the historic Rio Tinto Copper Mine in Spain - an exceptional opportunity to produce copper at a relatively low acquisition and start-up cost.

Led by Harry Anagnostaras-Adams, the management team has extensive experience of minerals projects and includes:

  • Mr Ron Cunneen, Group Head of Exploration, is an Australian citizen who has more than 25 years experience as an exploration and mine geologist in Australasia and Europe.
  • Dr Demetrios Constantinides, Group Head of External Relations, is a Cypriot citizen who has 31 years experience in mineral exploration and mineral economics including senior roles in European Union Projects, Director for Public Relations and International Affairs for the Institute of Geology and Mineral Exploration in Greece (IGME).

  • Mr Lakis Katsamas, Group Financial Controller, is a Greek citizen who is a Chartered Certified Accountant with eight years experience in senior financial positions internationally.
  • Ms Tara L. Wales, General Manager - Legal for the EMED Group of Companies, is a British citizen who is a tri-lingual barrister, solicitor and notary public. She has extensive experience working with international mining companies in Canada, South America and Spain.

  • Mr John Ingram, Project Geologist - Rio Tinto Mine, Spain, is an Australian citizen who has worked as both a mine geologist and an exploration geologist in Australia and South America.

All of the above management team live in Europe close to EMED Mining's projects.
